The Artist Foundry presents a special evening of 7 short films at Edison House. The program will feature a screening of short films by local filmmakers and a moderated Q&A with local filmmaker and Artist Foundry Manager, Amanda Madden.

Pretendian by Regina Simons

In a world obsessed with appearances and social validation, Pretendian challenges our perception of identity and raises important questions about cultural appropriation and the consequences of our actions. How far can one go before facing the repercussions of deceit? Can one truly find acceptance by pretending to be someone they’re not?

Amanda Madden

Amanda Madden (they/them) is a filmmaker, educator and community organizer whose work explores evolutions of intimacy, identity, body, and connection.They have worked as an director and editor of documentary, narrative, and experimental films for the past 15 years and their work has been exhibited internationally and won multiple awards and nominations. They facilitate the independent educational project, Reflection Collective, a series of virtual workshops and gatherings focused on creative practice as a tool for introspection and connection.
