Setting up your Film as a Business

November 15, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
$25-100

Workshop 1 of The Business of Filmmaking Workshop series
This series provides a comprehensive look at taking your script to the screen including how to set up your production company, finalize your script and budget, prepare a pitch package, find funding options, and processes and tasks of pre-production.

Led by Iocal PGA Producer, Marcie Gibboney, this educational series consists of presentations, discussion, and workshopping your project, all designed to advance your film effectively through the business of filmmaking.

This first workshop will provide filmmakers with the first steps to take their script to the screen. Focus will be on setting up your production company, creating an initial budget, and breaking down your script. You will also learn how to create a great logline and synopsis.

  • This workshop is offered as a pay-what-you-can-afford model from $25-100.
  • Artist Foundry members receive a $25 discount of the $100 workshop cost,
  • Scholarships to cover the full cost of the workshop are available through generous grant funding from the American Rescue Plan Act brought to us by the Salt Lake Mayor’s Office of Economic Development. Please reach out amadden@utahfilmcenter.org if this is right for you.
