Shemie Reut

After attending the School of Visual Arts in New York, Shemie worked as a director, editor,
cinematographer, and producer on both sides of the Atlantic. His early projects included music videos for
artists like Mos Def, DMX, and Eve, and commercials for MTV and BET. He later transitioned to
directing and editing both short and feature-length films, including “Paradox Lake” (featured at the
Sundance Film Festival, New Directors/New Series at Lincoln Center), and most recently, “You and Eye”,
which explores AI deep fake news wreaking havoc during the US presidential elections. His work has
won Best Movie at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival and the Spirit Award at the Athens,
Nashville, and New Horizons film festivals.
In recent years, Shemie has embraced emerging Artificial Intelligence technologies in video creation,
integrating them into the creative process for films, advertising, and educational content. He has also
lectured at Columbia University, the Museum of Modern Art, the School of Visual Arts, and recently led
workshops on Generative AI at Cinemagis Film School in France.
