Join us on the first Thursday of each month to mix and mingle in the Artist Commons! This is an exclusive gathering for Artist Foundry members to connect with our incredible community of filmmakers.

This month’s mixer will feature an opportunity to have professional headshots taken by local photographer, Cat Palmer.

Now it is time to put together the detailed budget–to help with financing or to get pre-production going! It doesn’t matter if you have a $5k budget or a $5m budget, the process is still the same. In this workshop, we will take a look at a few funding options, payroll and accounting setup, and let’s not forget about insurance! We’ll also discuss options for the Utah Motion Picture Incentive Fund.

An in-person craft-focused conversation with the director of the film, Beyond the Mix, Brittanie Goldsby. We will explore the themes of the film including the art of sound design, mixing, and production within music and film.

Join us for the world premiere of Zulian Pretzel, written and directed by Harold Bohorquez and a work-in-progress screening of Anastasis, written and directed by Josie Maye Hurtley, both projects that were pitched at the Artist Foundry Pitch Competition.

The Artist Foundry presents a special evening of short documentary films by local filmmakers and a moderated Q&A. These films take unique approaches to nonfiction filmmaking and tell profound stories about memory, identity, and reclamation.

Your project is greenlit – congratulations! In this workshop, learn the next steps from finalizing your script and the production budget to hiring your crew and cast. We will also talk about location scouting, getting estimates from equipment vendors, and setting up union and crew contracts. We will also talk about how to organize your project using file sharing tools. These discussions will help ensure that you have a strong infrastructure to make your project a success.
